About us

What is Blaenau Gwent Food Partnership?

Blaenau Gwent Food Partnership supports individuals and organisations working in our food system to promote healthy, sustainable and fair food choices.

We believe that food connects us all and good food can be the foundation of strong, healthy, resilient communities. As a partnership we’re on a mission to advocate for the change our communities want and to help people, place and the planet.

Who are we?

Blaenau Gwent Food Partnership is hosted by Tai Calon Community Housing with additional partners Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Aneurin Leisure Trust and Natural Resources Wales.

Established in 2021, we are members of Sustainable Food Places and part of the Food Sense Wales network.

Food Sense Wales is Sustainable Food Place’s national partner in Wales which aims to influence how food is produced and consumed in Wales, ensuring that sustainable food, farming and fisheries are at the heart of a just, connected and prosperous food system.

Our Team

Chris Nottingham is Blaenau Gwent’s Co-ordinator, responsible for bringing together organisations working on sustainable food projects across the borough, to share best practice and work together to transform the county’s food system.
